Home cooking

My conversation with my mom on Wednesday...

me - "Hi Mom"
mom - "Hi Jordy! .... is Johnny home?"
me - "No. He has to stay tonight too."
mom - "Oh no! Poor guy! What a bummer!"
me - "I know. So I don't know what I'm gonna do for dinner."
mom (at same time) - "Did you want dinner?"
both - laugh
me - "Yah. I gotta go home and feed Emma first. Then I'll come over."
mom - "You don't have to stay. You can eat and run if you need to."
me - "Ok, see you in 20-25 minutes!"
mom - "I can't wait to see you!"

Seriously, I love my mom. She fed me two nights this week while my J was away. I was out of food (not literally, but it felt like it!) and didn't wanna spend any money... and Mom came through. Twice. I love that I can call my mom and she knows what I'm gonna ask before I ask it. She never pressures me to do anything, but welcomes me to do everything. I can invite myself along to do pretty much anything she is doing in a moment's notice, and I feel like I was included from the beginning.

Thanks for dinner, Mom... twice.
Thanks for always answering my calls.
Thanks for knowing my schedule.
Thanks for the 5-10 minute catch up chats when I'm driving from place to place.
Thanks for your morning "Good luck today Jordy, I love you" text messages.
Thanks for the open invitation to do, or eat, or be, or talk, or hang out and do nothing.
Thanks for checking on Emma on short notice.
Thanks for trying to feed her.
Thanks for being my mom.
Thanks for loving me.

I love you too.
