Shout Out: Trevor Time

As much as I love baseball, I didn't get to go to many Padres games this season.
However, I went to a couple... and one of them was Trevor's retirement ceremony
I wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Steve, Mom, Carly and I headed over to the game together a few Sundays ago.

The stadium was packed. {my favorite type of stadium is a packed stadium!}
 they introduced him to his song and he walked out with his family... amazing.
 they had 4 padres hall of famers there too.
 he got a car. {pretty sure he didn't need that... but it was sure cool!}
 his turn to talk.
yay trevor!!!
 then we watched the game ... and ate, of course {i think we had about 3 full meals each}
 mom and steve!

 i miss trevor. but i sure love our new closer.
 padres brought home a win.
 yay padres!!

It was so fun to be a part of Trevor's retirement ceremony
and to be at the ballpark with my family.
It's the best.

So ... yeah {12 random summer happenings}

Since I've been a bit of a poor blogger this summer, there are many events that happened that didn't end up getting a blog post. So, I thought I would just lump it into one and share some random happenings from this summer.

These are in no order whatsoever and are simply the things I took pictures of... I wasn't a great picture-taker this summer, so its a bit random...

1. Date night with my baby to have fish tacos, laugh at the comedy theatre, and eat yummy gelato!

 2. A walk on the lake with a dear friend {and lots of walks with my mom!}

3. Dinner with great friends and some treasures they brought back for us from their trip to Ecuador.

4. Pool time at Grandma's and visiting my mom's cousin from St Louis

5. Labor Day feast with J

6. Coffee with Aristoula

 7. Random shopping trips with J

8. The Queen Bee Market with mom and sis {and some surprise friends!}
 ashley and david
 rhonda, aly, and marghee

 9. A few successful meals

10. A few Padres games

11. Dinner with my family

12. Jaclyn and Nick's wedding {Jaclyn is Carly's friend and was one of my girls when I led a girls bible study their freshman year of high school... I love this girl... her day was so special}

so happy for her - she was the sweetest bride ever.
 met up with my friend Cara there too :)

These are a few of the randomest things...
things that brought me joy this summer :)

Let's go Padres!

I had the honor of accompanying my super fun and hard core baseball loving friend
to the Padres game this Wednesday.

I love baseball. Love my Padres, win or lose.
Even worked for them for three years selling tickets to those games.
I love the hot dogs, the crazy fans, the crowded seats, the common cheers,
the beautiful stadium in the most gorgeous city, and of course, the boys themselves.

But my friend may be an even bigger fan.
miss softball-coach, miss keeps-score-via-pen-and-paper,
miss past-season-ticket-owner, miss know-everyone's-name.
(i say all this in the most fondest of tones, truly i love it all)
And she invited me!

It was a bucket-load of fun.

We began our adventure at Seaport where we captured a few photos.

 another gorgeous sunset

We went to the cutest little candy store and loaded our
little baggies of delights to enjoy at the ballpark.

We strolled over to the ballpark and caught the end of the sunset through the high rises.

We "stumbled to our seats," according to a particular employee.

Honestly. We walk past two people, realize we are in the wrong row,
walk back past them, and we are all of a sudden young potentially-drunk girls
who are lying about having seats in the section.

It provided a great laugh for the rest of the night.

We enjoyed a lovely conversation and a terrific win.

So fun to hang out with you, Jess. Thanks for sharing your free tickets with me!

And Padres, how about another win today? Yes, please.
But regardless, I will love you.
But please win!
