Clean once again

The pups got baths last weekend
(which is quite a project, let me tell you).
These are their "after" photos.

Their contentment is refreshing.

Ah, a peak into the simple pleasures of Emma and Baker.

They teach me how to be.
I love them for it.

Ten tokens for Tuesday

1. I found a nursing theory for my paper. Trust me. This is a big deal.
2. Clean laundry.
3. A chat with Mom and Sis.
4. My final textbook came in the mail. After some weeks and a few orders. Third times the charm.
5. 24 on hulu.
6. Success at Emma's obedience class. She "sat and stayed" while I walked around her. We celebrate the stepping stones here.
7. Cuddle time with J.
8. Cute fun return address labels. Bill paying is that much more fun.
9. My bright pink folder. Anything to make me smile when I do homework.
10. My first homemade mudpie. My favorite dessert ever. J and I chowed.
As for tomorrow... happy humpday!

A fresh start

The first dip into a brand new beautiful butter.
Is it wierd to post a picture of butter?
I kinda figure, well, I enjoyed the moment, so I had to share.
How I love fresh starts.
In all forms.

Emma's Treasures

Emma likes to collect things. As in, she likes to pick up any random object she can reach on her walks and proudly carry it in her mouth. Especially pinecones. Especially pinecones that are just the right size for her mouth. Although she's not picky.

Many dog owners would not let their dogs pick up sticks and random log chunks and bits of pinecones. And, I mean, we do have rules. She's not supposed to pull on the leash. We'll let you know when we get that one accomplished.

And, I mean, she knows sit. And she's pretty good at it! I figure that counts for something.

But when it comes to her sticks, we both just laugh. They make her so happy! Walking Emma with a stick is a rather pleasant job.

And once I got this idea to make her a basket for her collections, I practically begged her to pick up a pinecone if I saw one.

They don't all make it home. Some make it into other grassy areas. Saving it for later, we like to say. But this is what made it home so far, and their new home.

Another kind of life

Tuesdays. Not my favorite. For the most part.

My favorite part of Tuesdays - the beach. I didn't get there early enough to go before clinical today. So I went on the beach walk with all the clients from the crisis house. Today we saw a couple treasures.

I saw two dolphins swimming in the ocean!

One next to the other. In sync with each other. Riding the waves. I forgot the camera, but it was kinda like this.

The clients and I all pointed and watched together. It was a sort of bonding moment.

I like dolphins. I like that God thought to create dolphins. They live in the water, but breathe the same air we do. They have kids just like we do. They mate. They have families. And they make our waters beautiful. What must a dolphin day be like. "Today I think I will ride the waves." So simple. Thanks, Lord, for the dolphins and their simplicity. And for bringing them by at just the right time so I could see them.

"And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, & let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." So God created the great creatures of the sea & every living & moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, & every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. God blessed them & said, "Be fruitful & increase in number & fill the water in the seas, & let the birds increase on the earth." And there was evening, & there was morning—the fifth day."
Genesis 1:20-23
