Twelve Months of Twinsies

Well, my babies are now 13 months old. But a month ago, they turned one. ONE YEAR OLD.
What!!
I can't believe we have two one-year-olds!

Maddie and Rachel have changed my world for the best.
I'm in love with each of their little hearts. I love everything about them.
Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of twin daughters to love!

Here are their last month of monthly photos.
{Fun photo shoot facts: This photo shoot lasted about five minutes, because then the numbers were destroyed and they were done. Funny thing about twins is they grab each other's numbers. So even if I get one to forget about her sticker, the other reminds her of it. (same story with hair bows!)}
I love this crazy twin mom life I live!

Eleven Months of Twinsies

Well, I'm a month behind in posting these, but before I post the one-year photos I have to post the 11 month ones! So this photo shoot happened after baths before jammies because I forgot to do it earlier. It also happened in about 6 minutes. Thank goodness for Auntie Carly helping me wrangle these two wild girls for a couple photos! (and keep them from leaping off the chairs!) I love these two crazies!

 {I especially appreciate Maddie in the background of these next two while Rachel had her own little photo shoot!}

Ten Months of Twinsies

It's happened.
They are in the double digits of months.
And in less than two months, they will be one year old.
Maddie and Rachel are 10 months old!!!

they can't believe it either

This age is SO fun. Rachel decided actual crawling was slightly more efficient than army crawling and has since taken off through the house with her turbo crawl. Both girls are standing holding onto things, walking along furniture, up and down to pick things up, crawling with things in their hands... pretty much showing off all their new skills regularly. Maddie has stood a few times on her own for a few seconds... she is close to being able to stand on her own. And Rachel stood for a couple seconds the other day too! They are headed in every which way (which isn't always the same way, which makes for lots of fun for mommy not to lose a baby!). They love splashing the dog water and eating the dog food (neither of which they are allowed to do), opening cabinets and closing them (the louder bang the better), and pulling everything out of cabinets. Maddie likes to clear tables, counters, her high chair tray, you name it, as fast as she can. Rachel really loves shredding paper - toilet paper is her favorite, but paper towels, napkins, baby wipes all will suffice. (They are truly in constant motion, so photos of them together that are in focus are few and far between.)

Basically, all this to say, my house is crazy in the very best way. There is stuff everywhere and it is always very clear where Maddie and Rachel have been.

And I love it!!

They are laughing, smiling, talking a ton (in all pitches and volumes!), interacting with us and with each other more than ever, hugging and kissing, clapping, waving, saying "mama" and Rachel says "dada".... we are pretty much the luckiest parents in the world that these girls are really OUR kids.

J had the option of splitting up his paternity leave, so he saved a week for last week. It was SO awesome having him home with us!! He loves his girls and they love him so!!

Nine Months of Twinsies

On January 1st, Maddie and Rachel had their nine-month birthday!
NINE MONTHS! That's only three away from ONE YEAR!!
Goodness I can't believe how fast time goes.
And yet I am so thankful for each day we have together.
These girls make me laugh every single day.
They are totally interacting with each other, social laughing, talking, playing together.
They LOVE bath time, their little play tables, music, books, eating, and watching the dogs play.
Maddie is such a confident little crawler and Rachel is the fastest little army crawler around.
No teeth yet, but they'll be here soon I'm sure!
Current favorite places to explore include: the dog food/water bowls, Rachel loves the cords under daddy's desk, Maddie loves pulling everything off mommy's nightstand, and they both enjoy behind the toilet and on the bird cage. {So basically, all the dirtiest/most dangerous places in the house. hehehe!}
They love their stroller and sit up so seriously as if they are driving it.
Rachel won't keep headbands or hats on anymore (it used to be switched),
so Maddie is flying solo with the headband in this photo sesh.
I snuck the numbers on and am amazed they didn't notice and actually left them on for a bit this time. We had to distract them with toys to get them both to hold still for longer than 5 seconds.
They are so busy and SO MUCH FUN!!!!
